1. Delete in the app
In-app path: Settings > Privacy and Data > Delete account and Android data.
- Open Settings in the Game Caption Android app.
- Find your Support ID under Privacy and Data.
- Tap Delete account and Android data.
- Read and explicitly accept the warning that any Google Play subscription must be cancelled separately.
- After final confirmation, the app sends an authenticated deletion request to the secure backend and displays its status.
This method verifies ownership of the anonymous app account through Firebase Authentication and Android App Check.
2. If you cannot access the app
Send a deletion request by email
If available, include the Support ID beginning with GC-A-, the app version, and state that the request concerns your Android account. A Support ID helps us locate a record but is not, by itself, proof of ownership; we may request an additional safe verification step.
Do not send: payment-card details, your Google Play password, a raw purchase token, date of birth, App Check token, or any other secret.
Our normal target is to complete verifiable requests within 30 days. If applicable law or a security, fraud, payment, or dispute obligation requires longer retention, we will explain the limited scope and reason.
Android data that is deleted
- The anonymous Android Firebase account and Android account registry records.
- Android-only age-eligibility, preview, user-linked usage, and rate/concurrency protection records.
- Android-only subscription/entitlement links, except purchase history retained by the store provider.
- Local account, preference, and cache data in the app after server deletion completes.
The authentication account is removed last, after retryable user-data deletion. The Android deletion worker processes only explicitly allowed Android records and does not modify iOS or shared collections.
Information with a separate retention period
- Purchase and payment history kept in your Google Play account is governed by Google's policies.
- Minimum records that must be retained for legal, accounting, chargeback, fraud-prevention, or dispute purposes.
- A non-content deletion receipt used to prevent duplicate processing may be retained for up to 30 days.
- The Android translation cache does not contain a user identifier, has a target maximum of 30 days from last access, and is not deleted as a user record by the account-deletion worker.
- The user-linked free-service guard is removed with the deletion request; the aggregate daily cost ledger has no user identifier and has a target maximum of 48 hours.
- An as-yet-unlinked Google Play RTDN record has a target maximum of 30 days.
- Google Cloud
_Default logs may remain for 30 days, _Required security/audit logs for 400 days, Firebase Crashlytics records for up to 90 days, and Gemini abuse-monitoring records for up to 55 days.
Firestore periods are target maximum retention windows. Automatic physical deletion depends on the live TTL policy being enabled and applied. If TTL has not yet been verified, an expired record may remain in physical storage longer even though the app no longer treats it as valid.
Support email
Cloudflare Email Routing is active for support@gamecaptionapp.com. The message is forwarded to a private Microsoft-hosted support mailbox whose private destination address is not published. Cloudflare routing-event analytics may be retained for up to 31 days.
We target deletion of support messages within 30 days after the request closes. Only the minimum required record may be retained longer for law, security, fraud, payment, or disputes.
Cancel subscriptions separately
Deleting app data, submitting a deletion request, or uninstalling the app does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription. On Android, manage or cancel Game Caption separately under Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
